# Private Transfer

##

A private transfer sends funds from your encrypted balance to someone else's encrypted account, with no public link between you and the recipient.

### Before you start

* You need funds in your **encrypted** balance (shield first if needed).
* The recipient must have their own **encrypted account** set up. If they don't, the transfer can't complete — they'll need to create one first.

### Steps

1. **Select the token** you want to send.
2. **Choose Private Transfer.**
3. **Enter the amount** to send.
4. **Enter the recipient's encrypted wallet address.**
5. **Approve** in your wallet.
6. **Done.** The funds leave your encrypted balance and arrive privately in the recipient's encrypted stash as a claimable note.

### What's happening

The transfer moves value from your encrypted account (ETA) to the recipient's encrypted account (ETA). Because both sides are encrypted, there's no public record linking you as the sender to them as the receiver. The recipient sees an incoming note in their stash, which they then claim.

### Recipient check

Before sending, HEAA Dark Pool verifies the recipient has an encrypted account. If they don't, you'll be told they need to set one up first — this protects your funds from being sent somewhere they can't privately land.
